Sir Tom Finney Mural
Have you seen our amazing Sir Tom Finney mural?
Here at Urban Kitchens, we are proud to announce a mural dedicated to Sir Tom Finney and his dedication to the city of Preston…
You may have already passed our showroom and seen this amazing piece of artwork by Shaun Sharp (AKA Reasm). It was so amazing, we decided to commision the equally fabulous Flying Ibo to capture drone footage of Sir Tom in all his glory.
Preston’s murals are a trend at the minute and there is actually an interactive map of all the murals in Preston, which you can view here.
Sir Tom Finney was an iconic English footballer, widely regarded as one of the greatest players of all time. Born on April 5, 1922, in Preston, Lancashire, he spent his entire professional career at his hometown club, Preston North End, from 1946 to 1960.
Known for his versatility, he played as a winger and centre forward, making 433 league appearances and scoring 187 goals for Preston.
Finney also had a distinguished international career, earning 76 caps and scoring 30 goals for England.
His dedication to Preston earned him the nickname “The Preston Plumber,” as he continued his plumbing apprenticeship even after signing professional terms.
He was knighted in 1998 for his services to football.
