Sometimes the proof is always in the pudding
Mr & Mrs Smith had a pleasing relationship with their oak kitchen lasting them over 30 years. After discussions and specific aspects of the kitchen looking tired and dated, they decided it was time to revamp and modernise.
Mrs Smith is a person who likes to take things in her stride and mull over decisions making sure everything is as she wants. On the other hand, Mr Smith likes to make a decision and move on to the next project with haste.
The plan was to visit a sizeable national Kitchen retailer based on the retail park in Preston after seeing their national advertising campaign on the TV. That very morning Mr Smith spotted an URBAN Kitchen van parked across the road at a neighbour’s house just beginning an installation. Knowing their neighbours had good taste and an eye for quality, no further a do it was decided they should visit Urban on the route.
The rest is history. Mr and Mrs Smith’s first impressions of the Urban showroom filled them with ideas. Made to feel at ease by our designers. All questioned answered, nothing was too much trouble.
Design done, colours picked, date booked and deposit paid. The fasted decision ever made but every fear laid to rest.
This kitchen really is a compact room that works perfectly. The colour grey worried Mrs Smith slightly even though she wanted the contemporary most popular colour on the market, the fear of darkening the room did concern her. Not the case the blend of the wood effect worktops and splashbacks lift this room and giving it that real texture and depth of various colours. A bright alcove of lit shelving gives furniture feel to the whole room and lifts the corner.
All appliances in the trendy Bosch range, including integrated oven and combination microwave. Mrs Smith is getting to grips with these like a marriage made in heaven loving the functions for her popular hobby of baking most days.
Mrs Smith really wanted to have an induction hob, but unfortunately, Mr Smith has a pacemaker. A ceramic hob was decided upon, and she’s more than happy with this appliance. Large drawers underneath her hob really are a godsend. Pots utensils and dishes neatly stacked and hidden and very quickly reached instead of the act of routing in the back of a cupboard. Spice rack stationed by the side of the extractor and within easy reach freeing up more workspace, again a suggestion by the designers and installation team.
Being the baker she is, Mrs Smith needed an area dedicated to this hobby. Feeding the family her famous pudding and cakes is a fulltime job. We created a baking station that ticked all the boxes. Showing me this area is most definitely the highlight of this room for her, everything has its place and is to hand and easy to work in.
This room really is a massive change from the previous look. Modern and contemporary the colour scheme of grey tones has a real calming feel but yet still looks inviting and warm.
Mr and Mrs Smith’s whole experience with Urban form start to finish was described to me as flawless and stress-free. Mark the installer went that extra mile at all times and helped with various suggestions including handle change and décor tips. Toni made sure everything ran smoothly at the office and was always available to put their fears to rest. Mr Smith’s final comment to me was one that we often hear. “An independent family firm who don’t pass you on after the same purchase faces from beginning to end.”
