Family living space with a function in every corner
Family living space with a function in every corner – On meeting The Fulton Family the first thing that came across to Urban was the need to use every inch of this beautiful new extension and not to waste any space.
Becky and Mick have a family which consists of teenagers, a budding gymnast and a toddler.
This new kitchen had to be dressed and designed to suit all ages and brings their family together comfortably to discuss the day’s event at mealtimes.
A task we went at with full enthusiasm and inspirational ideas…
Becky and Mick already had a plan by a national competitor based at the retail park in Deepdale, but unfortunately they felt extremely uninspired and when discovering the price of it and its contents also left them rather deflated.
They came to visit us firstly in our Lancaster Branch on a little day trip outing – Immediately we scrapped the original plan and redesigned the whole look bringing in soft cashmere tones mixed with Grey Bardolino oak wood panelling, continuing this theme by cladding the contemporary wall units and peninsula end… A real Germanic design that made certain areas feel like furniture rather than a functional kitchen.
This was continued in the recreational area (family living space) with the media centre housing the Sky Box and TV.
A large bespoke larder was commissioned to give Becky the extra storage required in this busy Mum’s household.
The peninsula is a big hit with Becky, not only for her to cook on the induction hob, but also to ‘sip fizz’ and socialise with her family and friends whilst keeping an eye on the little one, who is a dab hand at the sweeper vac installed in her plinth.
Mick insisted on his professional tap, and I’m told on good authority he’s a regular user and loves to do the dishes. The kitchen includes a washer dishwasher, full-height fridge, Bosch induction hob oven and combination microwave, all built in and off the sides leaving an amazing amount of work space.
The Fulton’s have dressed this room with the most regal and striking colour scheme, incorporating a table and bench set for the family meals.
It’s an absolute credit to them and I for one instantly felt at home within this family room… A real family living space with a function in every corner.
Urban came in on budget and with a result that blew any competitor away on price even when they offered further discount at the 11th hour to win the Fulton’s back.
A huge Thank you to Becky and Mick for choosing Urban, it’s been an absolute pleasure working with you both.
As Mick reminded me this morning we had a sofa situation one rainy morning, but a tape measure and chalk sorted the job out.
Your problems are our problems, ’till the jobs done!
