A labour of love in lockdown
The current situation has thrown up many obstacles for us all. Some people have accepted defeat and put off till a later date. Others have risen to the challenge and beat the odds!
None more than Mr & Mrs Conway who purchased their new property received the keys and started to plan for the full house renovation just as Mr Johnson locked us all down in March.
Not the news they wanted to hear!! After moving in with relatives, storing possessions and regrouping the decision was taken. Let’s get this renovation started in full gusto.
After many issues mainly with supply chains and building materials, The Conway’s battled on to build their dream home and what a result.
We took the job on over the lockdown period—a visit to the site with masks and COVID-19 compliance. Mr Conway had built the extension by now, it was time to discuss design possibilities and the overall look Mr & Mrs Conway wanted to achieve. Future details and decisions happened on various communication levels, including zoom, email, and good old fashion telephone.
At Urban, our aim throughout this pandemic has been to keep the standard of workmanship, customer expectation and service at a premium level. I believe we managed to achieve this and to a standard that our clients far expected.
I had the pleasure of seeing this room and recently photographing the end result!! What a fantastic usage of space, the colour scheme is fresh and very on-trend! We have recently seen the popularity of Indigo immerge onto the design market. It’s inspiring when a client takes the plunge and orders a new trend.
Mrs Conway wanted a social area but also to double up as a family area for quick snacks and homework. She also requested the tall bank to look like furniture rather than appliance housings. Solent indigo certainly fit the bill, hiding her beverage station, Fridge freezer and cleaning appliances perfectly.
Teamed up with Solent grey mist a match made in heaven. Built-in appliances to include oven, gas hob and chimney hood, combi microwave, washer dryer plus ample storage. The ceramic sink and Pasadena pine tops bring the overall look to a grand finale. The copper handles introduce the industrial feel and marry up the accessories and lighting.
