Herb Wall Planter
I stumbled across this very unique way of planting your herbs or even houseplants to add some decoration to your kitchen.
This to me seemed a simple yet very effective way to brighten up a wall and literally make it come alive.
I have seen several versions of this idea, Including on coat racks. So since the use of plant décor is becoming very popular, I thought it time to share.
Why not make them and hang them up in an Urban Kitchen.
If you have always wanted to put a shelf or something on this wall but not fully decided this is the time act and create.
You will need…..
- Good quality jars
- Heavy duty hose pipe clips
- Boards
- Quality potting Soil
- Rocks or gravel for drainage
Make sure you pick plants that are meant for medium light and that don’t grow super-fast.
Step One
Get a scrap piece of wood and laid the clamp on it. Take a nail that is about the size of the screw you will be using, and then hammered the nail into one of the slits in the clamp. It forces the slit in the clamp open so you can then screw it to the barn wood board.
Step Two
Screw the clamps to the board.
Step Three
Then screw the board to the wall. When the jars are added they will hide the screws used to attach it to the wall.
Step Four
Add rocks to the bottom of the jar. Add a little potting soil and then the plant. Add more potting soil around the plant.
Step Five
While you hold the jar in place tighten the clamp. All done you now have a living wall piece of art made by yourself.
